Journalist covers Sister Simone at Holy Wisdom–and the Catholic obejctions

I have been very busy; these articles were online on Thursday and Friday but here they are now finally on my blog. In the newspaper was Doug Erickson’s article covering Sister Simone’s talk at the Faith-Labor breakfast at Holy Wisdom Monastery on Thursday morning, in which for instance we learn what she thinks of the… (read more)

Sister Simone Campbell at the formerly-Catholic Holy Wisdom Monastery

For the last couple of weeks I have been collecting testimonies from local Catholic friends of mine, regarding why Catholics should not support Holy Wisdom Monastery, once a Catholic Benedictine religious community but not anymore, and now a very religiously irregular place. Testimonies from Catholics in local Madison Diocese parishes regarding Holy Wisdom Monastery

Was it black or brown? What color… (read more)

The former Benedictine Sisters at Holy Wisdom Monastery who left their vows and “went non canonical” sometimes hosts so called “Roman Catholic Womenpriests” at their facility. As implied by the rainbow accoutrements, “Dignity” is a pro-homosexuality organization. I have personally met members of the… (read more)

The problem with Holy Wisdom Monastery

In the late 1950s and early 60s there was a Catholic girls’ high school just north of Madison, run by Benedictine Sisters (historic photo above). Times changed, the school closed, and the Sisters, going with the spirit of the age, became very liberal. Eventually, the two remaining elderly Sisters (and a protestant woman who joined… (read more)
